Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of Mimbar (mimbar.ukuem.org), sponsored by UKUEM and operated by Himma Technologies, Zanzibar, Tanzania. By using the site you agree to them. How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Anyone can browse and listen to public lessons for free, without an account. Lessons are provided for personal learning. Please do not copy, re-upload or sell them without permission from the sheikh or mosque that published them.

• Publisher accounts are for sheikhs, mosques and people authorised to act for them.
• You must give accurate information when you register, and keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• New accounts are reviewed before they can publish, and we may decline an account at our discretion.
• Accounts may have monthly upload or thumbnail limits, depending on the plan.

You keep ownership of the lessons, photos and other material you upload. By uploading, you allow Mimbar to store, process and show that content on the site, to create thumbnails from it, and to publish it to your YouTube channel when you ask us to.

You confirm that you have the right to publish everything you upload, and that it does not:

• infringe anyone's copyright or other rights, or show people without their permission;
• contain hate speech, incitement to violence, harassment, or false claims about real people;
• break the law of Tanzania, or YouTube's rules when it is published there.

We may remove content, or suspend or close an account, that breaks these terms. To report content, email info@himatech.co.tz.

If you connect a YouTube channel, Mimbar uploads lessons to that channel on your behalf using YouTube API Services. By connecting, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's use of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. You remain responsible for your channel and what is published on it. You can disconnect at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Some features may be offered on paid plans, billed through Stripe or Pesapal at the price shown when you subscribe. If a paid plan ends, is cancelled or a payment fails, your account falls back to the free plan's limits. It is not deleted. Payments already made are not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.

Donations are voluntary and support the running of the Mimbar platform. Unless it is clearly stated otherwise, a donation goes to the platform, not to the sheikh or mosque whose lesson you were viewing, and it gives you no goods, services or account benefits. Donations are not refundable.

We work to keep Mimbar running, but it is provided “as is”, without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free. Lessons are the views of the people who publish them, not of Mimbar. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by content published by users or by services we rely on, such as YouTube.

You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing info@himatech.co.tz. Videos already published to your YouTube channel stay there until you remove them on YouTube.

We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
